ABOUT ME

My name is Abby Beckley and I recently graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in Interior Architecture.
I was born in Boulder, Colorado, grew up in Portland, Oregon and have been soaking up the sun in San Diego, CA for the last 4! I must say, these three places have greatly influenced who I am. They have influenced me as a person and as a designer. I have a deep seeded appreciation for nature and emphasize the incorporation of biophilic elements and sustainable techniques within my designs.
Growing up, I always admired the creativity in the structure of our built environment. The experience within the built environment is something everyone experiences, and the opportunity to manipulate those experiences in new and unique ways has always intrigued me. The week after I got accepted for Interior Architecture at SDSU, I got a time capsule letter that I buried for myself with my class in 8th grade, to open up when we graduated high school. On that letter, my dream job was architect/interior designer! 8th grade me would be proud of where I am headed.

Throughout my time at San Diego State University, I have faced a lot of personal and professional adversity as a student and a growing individual. Design keeps me grounded and has continued to provide never ending excitement for my future.
